Tomasi & Champagne’s The Mighty Acquired by Paramount
Deadline.com has the scoop that Paramount Pictures has acquired the film rights to the creator-owned DC Comics title The Mighty.
The Mighty was a 12-issue limited series that was published through DC from 2009-2010. The title was co-created and co-written by Peter Tomasi & Keith Champagne, and featured artwork by Peter Snejberg.
Based on the idea that our world has one superhero, a soldier who developed powers during World War II, The Mighty follows the friendship Alpha-One develops with the man who leads his “clean-up crew,” Section Omega.
According to Deadline, Mary Parent’s Paramount-based Disruption Entertainment will produce. Parent and Cale Boyter will produce with Benderspink’s JC Spink.
