Christopher Meloni in Talks for Role in ‘Man Of Steel’
Deadline.com is reporting that their sources have informed them that Law & Order: SVU star Christopher Meloni is in talks for a role in the Superman franchise reboot, Man of Steel. However, there is no word yet on what the role might be.
If talks are successful, Meloni will join a cast that includes Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Michael Shannon as the villain General Zod. Russell Crowe and Julia Ormond have also been offered the roles of Superman’s Kryptonian father and mother, respectively, but the deals have not yet been finalized.
Man of Steel is set to reboot the Superman film franchise for Warner Bros. Zack Snyder is directing the movie, with production by Chris Nolan, Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer, based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.
Slated for release in December 2012, the new Superman movie will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
