Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris #1 Sells Out!
From the press release
April 8, 2011, Runnemede, NJ - Dynamite Entertainment is pleased to announce that Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris #1 has sold out at the distribution level twice at Diamond, and with Dynamite’s aggressive overprinting on the hit series, we shipped in emergency re-orders right away both times! Issues #2 and #3 are also selling well and #2 looks to be selling out as well! With no plans to go back to press for a second printing, we encourage retailers to advance re-order Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris #2, as well as the upcoming #3 while supplies last and to advance order plenty copies of #4 as this continues to be yet another huge hit for Dynamite Entertainment!
“There is clearly a huge demand from fans regarding Edgar Rice Burroughs’ stories, Warlord of Mars,” says Dynamite’s President and Publisher Nick Barrucci. “After our initial Warlord of Mars series exceeded all expectations - both creatively and commercially, we knew that our next book in the series would focus on Dejah Thoris, the Martin Princess. And retailers and fans have shown us that we made the right decision! The overwhelming demand for this first issue surpassed our expectations and we cannot wait for our fans to see what’s coming up!”
And in the highly anticipated issue #2 of Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris, Dejah Thoris is in the hands of the treacherous, conniving and downright sleazy Jeddak of Yorn. Yorn wants to make Dejah his concubine, but death is a thousand times preferable to dishonor for a Martian princess. Yorn had better watch his back, because Dejah is a whole lot more than just a pretty face! He is working to resurrect the ancient evil buried in the catacombs beneath Dejah’s city of Helium. Valian, his son, is soft and unassuming, the opposite of his father in every way. But it takes more than muscles to make a hero. Valian’s got a few surprises for his father in Dejah Thoris #2: The Awakening!
