Variety.com is reporting that a trio of actors are in talks for small parts in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.

The biggest name mentioned in the article is “Rescue Me” star Daniel Sunjata, who is in early talks for to play a courageous special forces operative in the film.

Additionally, Diego Klattenhoff has been offered the part of a rookie cop who is looking to make a difference, while character actor Burn Gorman (“Layer Cake”) is also being eyed for a supporting role in the superhero pic.

Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Nolan will also produce the film with his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven.

“The Dark Knight Rises” is slated for release on July 20, 2012. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
