New Daredevil Creative Team Revealed as Mark Waid and Paolo Rivera!
A few minutes ago, I received a press release from Marvel, teasing that they would be revealing the new Daredevil creative team this Saturday, during he Cup o’ Joe panel at C2E2. However, it looks like fans might not have to wait that long, because Rich Johnston has already leaked the news over on his Bleeding Cool site. According to Rich, the new series will be launched in July, with the creative team of Mark Waid writing, and Paolo Rivera providing artwork!
Obviously, this hasn’t been confirmed by Marvel, nor will it be until they announce it during Saturday’s panel, but Rich’s sources are usually pretty reliable.
The Daredevil relaunch is part of Marvel’s ‘Big Shots‘ campaign, which is looking to relaunch titles featuring B-list characters like Moon Knight, Punisher, and Daredevil, with big name writers attached to them. Marvel previously announced that Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev will be relaunching Moon Knight in May, then earlier today, Rich also revealed that Marvel will be relaunching The Punisher in June, with the creative team of Greg Rucka and Marco Checchetto (see here)!
Mark Waid writing Daredevil? Now that’s an idea I can get behind. Waid is one of my favourite writers, so I’m looking forward to see where he takes Matt Murdock, following the events of Shadowland!
