Marvel Confirms New Punisher and Daredevil Creative Teams at C2E2
Last week, we shared the leaked news that Marvel were planning to announce the new Punisher creative team of Greg Rucka and Marco Checchetto; and the new Daredevil team of Mark Waid, and Paolo Rivera.
Well, this last weekend, during the Cup O’ Joe panel at C2E2, Marvel confirmed these new creative teams, with the addition of Marcos Martin to the new Daredevil team.
Punisher #1 by Greg Rucka and Marco Checchetto is set to hit shelves in June. CBR caught up with Rucka after the announcement, and he told them that:
“It wasn’t really a question of the universe as it was a question of the opportunity and the timing, which was right. This is an awesome opportunity and it would have been a shame to miss it,” Rucka told CBR News. “The world that Frank rolls in is a world that I’m very comfortable writing. I personally feel that I’ve never been aces at writing the lofty super hero stuff. I don’t think that’s my forte. I can do it and I absolutely love to work with people who do it well, but give me a story where a bullet can kill you and I’m much more at home! I write what I like to read and I like reading crime/noir stories. I like writing about cops, criminals, and the people in between.”

Daredevil #1 by Mark Waid, Paolo Rivera and Marcos Martin is set to hit shelves in July. CBR caught up with Waid after the announcement, and he told them that:
Tonally, it’s still very much a crime series, but we’re toning down the noir a bit and playing up the high adventure a bit more. He’s the Man Without Fear. I want to see that constantly. I want to see him diving face-first into perils that would make Green Lantern shriek like a little girl.
