Lorenzo Mattotti and Lou Reed’s The Raven to Debut at TCAF 2011!
The organizers of the Toronto Comic Arts Festival have announced that in conjunction with Fantagraphics Books, they are pleased to announce that The Raven, by author Lou Reed and TCAF Featured Guest Lorenzo Mattotti, will make it’s English language debut at The 2011 Toronto Comic Arts Festival.
TCAF describe The Raven as “a fascinating multimedia project which sees legendary rock and roller Lou Reed immersing himself in the world of Edgar Allen Poe, to create a unique cycle of songs and lyrics that pay homage to Poe, with brilliant Italian cartoonist and illustrator Lorenzo Mattotti illustrating, painting, and interpreting the works in this beautiful hybrid art, poetry, and comics work.”
Lorenzo Mattotti’s work has appeared in RAW Magazine and The New Yorker, and his most recent graphic novel release Stigmata (with writer Claudio Piersanti) appeared in Fall 2010 from Fantagraphics Books.
Look for further information on Fantagraphics’ TCAF 2011 plans, as well as feature events with Lorenzo Mattotti, as the Festival draws closer.
