Kevin Costner Cast As Pa Kent in Superman: Man Of Steel
No official statement has yet been released, but Deadline.com are reporting that Kevin Costner has closed a deal to play Jonathan Kent, Clark Kent’s adoptive father, in Superman: The Man of Steel.
Costner joins a cast that includes Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, with Diane Lane as Martha Ket, Clark Kent’s Adoptive mother. Actors rumoured to be in early talks for roles include Viggo Mortensen as Zod, and Linsay Lohan as Ursa (the Kryptonian villains).
Superman: The Man of Steel is set to reboot the Superman film franchise for Warner Bros. Zack Snyder is directing the movie, with production by Chris Nolan, Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer, based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.
Slated for release in December 2012, the new Superman movie will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
