Jonathan Hickman & Nick Pittara Collaborating on New Creator-Owned Comic - The Red Wing
I’m a huge fan of Jonathan Hickman’s Marvel work on Fantastic Four, Secret Warriors, S.H.I.E.L.D., and Ultimate Thor. However, I think that where Hickman’s talents really shine is when he’s working with his own creations, on books like The Nightly News, Pax Romana, Transhuman, and Red Mass for Mars.
Not counting the much-delayed final issue to Red Mass for Mars, it’s been a couple of years now since Hickman has put out an original title. Therefore, I was pretty please this afternoon, when he posted the following on Twitter/Yfrog:

Twitter user ardaniel then pointed out that you see more about this project on Nick Pitarra’s blog ( http://www.nickpitarra.com/), including a number of cover concept sketches, and the inks for the first few pages, which I have to say look pretty damn gorgeous!
The book looks to be some sort of intergalactic sci-fi story. I’ll ask Hickman for details, but I doubt he’ll tell me anything. I imagine the book is going to come out through Image, because they have handled all of his previous creator-owned projects. However, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him make the jump to Icon now that he’s a high flying Marvel creator
