Steve Niles and Scott Morse Collaborate on Creator Owned Comic Series: Crime and Terror

In separate posts on their respective blogs, Steve Niles and Scott Morse have both announced that they are collaborating on a new creator owned ongoing comic series, titled Crime and Terror.

Morse says that the series is “filled with episodes detailing the events in the life of a detective named Mike Fallon who’s going through some serious personal problems.” Alongside the ongoing narrative, they also plan to include a number of short standalone stories in the comic, which will be themed noir, horror, sci-fi, or whatever else may take their fancy. All of the stories will be illustrated by Morse, who will also be doing some of the writing, alongside Niles. In addition, the book will also include a number of prose stories, which will feature spot-illustrations from Morse.

Morse says that the plan is for the book to follow a monthly schedule. The publisher of the project has not yet been determined, but I’m going to predict that it will be IDW, as they have published a large amount of Niles’ creator owned projects in the past.

Scott Morse says of the book that , “you’ll cry with glee as you scream your face off.” Over on his blog, Niles says that “We have no idea what will happen with CRIME & TERROR but we’re doing it. We’ll figure out how to get it to readers, and how to maybe make some cash, but right now at least we’ll have a book.”

Well, wherever it turns up, I’ll be sure to buy it, because I haven’t missed a Steve Niles penned comic in years. The man can do no wrong!
