SLG Publishing’s Art Boutiki & Gallery’s First Friday Event Hosts the Art of Vesha Valentine

The First South First Friday of 2011 promises to be the best one of the year so far!

February is of course the month in which we celebrate Valentines Day and it is also the month that the SLG Art Boutiki will be celebrating the release of the new book by illustrator Des Taylor, The Vesha Valentine Story. A storybook done in the style of a 60′s era Hollywood biopic, the art from Vesha Valentine as well as some unseen work from th…e project by UK Illustrator Des Taylor will adorn the Boutiki walls. Taylor, who is known for his illustration work for famed UK jeweler Theo Fennel and other high profile clients, is a lover of all things pulp and has illustrated several pulp-styled comics and graphic novels.

Those of you who did not get to air their grievances during the December First Friday celebration will get another shot as we between band sets you will be allowed to take the stage and Tell Us What’s On Your Mind.

Live music and of course all the things that make The Art Boutiki the best comics art gallery in town!

All this plus great live music by Quasimodal! And keep in mind that for one night a month, the Art Boutiki has a better beer selection than most bars!
