Periscope Studios Adds Natalie Nourigat as a New Member
Portland based Periscope Studios announced today that they have added a new member to their roster, cartoonist Natalie “Tally” Nourigat. Apparently, Periscope’s membership list has been closed for many years, but they have decided to open the doors up again for Nourigat.
Located in Portland, Oregon, Periscope is the largest studio of freelance comics artists in the USA. They create comics for every major publisher, and do storyboards, concept art and illustration for ad agencies and other corporate clients. Their membership list as of today consists of Aaron McConnell, Ben Bates, Ben Dewey, Cat Farris, Colleen Coover, David Hahn, Dustin Weaver, Dylan Meconis, Erika Moen, Jeff Parker, Jeremy Barlow, Jesse Hamm, Jonathan Case, Karl Kesel, Kieron Dwyer, Natalie Nourigat, Paul Guinan, Paul Tobin, Rich Ellis, Ron Chan, Ron Randall, Steve Lieber, Susan Tardif, Terri Nelson, Terry Dodson, and Trixie Biltmore.
Here is the official announcement from their website:
As of 2011, Periscope Studio boasts two dozen talented artists and writers all tucked into one busy downtown office suite. Our membership list has been closed for years, but we’re proud to announce that we’ve brought aboard one of the most talented emerging cartoonists in Portland: Natalie “Tally” Nourigat.
Tally is already known in the comics and illustration world for her beautiful and distinctive work. Her lush linework, unique manga-inflected style and sprightly sense for gesture and composition make her art a definite standout, and her magnificently professional attitude makes her a pleasure to work with. We’ve been huge fans since we met her as a student in 2008, when it was immediately clear that she was destined for big things.
Fresh on the professional scene, Tally is already hard at work providing art for two graphic novels, in addition to keeping up with her burgeoning portfolio of illustrations and self-authored comics (including autobio webcomic Between Gears chronicling her last year of university). We look forward to her classing up the joint in 2011! Allow Tally to bring a little sophistication into your own life by checking out her work at RandomProduction.com or by contacting her at [email protected], and join us in welcoming her to Periscope Studio.
