DC Comics’ The Source blog is reporting that Joe Kubert’s Sgt Rock is set to make a special guest appearance in the 700th issue of PS Magazine (the preventive maintenance monthly magazine of the US Army).

The issue will feature a cover by Joe Kubert, and an exclusive 8-page Sgt Rock comic titled “PM For Easy Company”, illustrated by Kubert and written by PS Magazine’s Production Manager, Stuart Henderson. In keeping with the magazine’s theme, the strip will show Sgt Rock and Sergeant Half-Mast McCanick making firearm maintenance a blast.

The Source caught up with Kubert to ask him what it means to him as a U.S. military veteran and as a comic creator to work on this anniversary issue, and here’s what he had to say: “To act as a follow-up to a publication started by Will Eisner over sixty years ago is the thrill of a lifetime.”
