Archie Comics Drops the Comic Code Authority Seal of Approval
DC Comics announced yesterday that they would be dropping the outdated Comic Code Authority Seal of Approval and would be going with their own comics rating system. In the wake of this announcement, Archie Comics have announced that they will be following suit. “We’re officially dropping it with books on sale in February,” Archie Comics President Mike Pellerito told Newsarama Friday afternoon.
This means that as of today, there are no publishers who are still using the antiquated ratings system! Poor old Fredric Wertham, you’re dream is finally dying. Don’t ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee, Comics Code!
You can expect the seal to disappear from Archie Comics titles in February, and DC titles in April.
I’m really looking forward to Archie Meets The Punisher MAX, and The Punisher Vs. The Archie Universe. EVERYBODY DIES!
