Call for Entries: Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival

Comic-Con International: San Diego (Comic-Con), the largest comic book convention of its kind in the world, today announced it is now accepting submissions for its 2011 Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival (CCI-IFF). Celebrating its 11th year, CCI-IFF 2011 will be held during Comic-Con – July 21 through July 24 at the San Diego Convention Center. The deadline for submissions is February 15, 2021.
“We continue to be impressed by the quality of entries we receive from emerging filmmakers,” said David Glanzer, director of marketing and public relations for Comic-Con. “The festival has a rich history of showcasing a wide array of subjects and film styles and we can’t wait to see what these talented up-and-comers have in store this time around.”
Judged by a panel of industry luminaries, the CCI-IFF accepts genre-related films in the following categories: Action/Adventure, Animation, Comics-oriented, Pop Culture–Related Documentary, Horror/Suspense, Humor, and Science Fiction/Fantasy. Awards and prizes will be given out at Comic-Con on July 24, with film screenings taking place all four days of the event. Films submitted cannot have distribution or distribution deals in place.
