The Daredevil Movie Franchise Gets Rebooted

1

Deadline.com have the news that Marvel’s Daredevil movie franchise is the next to get rebooted. Daredevil will follow in the steps of The Hulk, which was rebooted last year, and Spider-Man, which was recently announced to be rebooted.

The original Daredevil movie was released in 2003, and stared Ben Affleck as Matt Murdock, the blind attorney with enhanced senses, who spends his nights protecting the streets of Hell’s Kitchen. The movie also stared Jennifer Garner as Electra, Colin Farrel as Bullseye, Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin, and Jon Favreau as Foggy Nelson. The movie was relatively successful, but received mixed reviews from critics and fans. It also spawned an Electra spin-offmovie, which was terribly unsuccessful.

According to Deadline, Regency is mounting the remake with Peter Chernin producing. The script is currently in the hands of David Scarpa. The film will be distributed by Fox.

Daredevil was created by Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett, with an unspecified amount of input from Jack Kirby, and first appeared in Daredevil #1 (April 1964).
