According to Variety.com, due to delays in the production of Spider-Man 4, Marvel Entertainment & Paramount have pushed forward the release date of the Thor movie to the much coveted May 6^th spot.

Thor was originally set to have opened May 20^th, 2011, but the Paramount decided to push forward on the release date, just one day after Sony confirmed that script issues had delayed the start of filming on Spider-Man 4. The reason for the push is that May 6^th is the first day of Summer, which is a big week for ticket sales.

Sony however, state that they are still aiming for the May 6^th release date, as they hope to still have the film wrapped up in time.
