Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Movie Set for an April 14th Release Date
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has been given a release date of April 14th, pitting it against The Expendables, a Sylvester Stallone vehicle, which opens in the same week.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is being released by Universal Pictures, and is directed by Edgar Wright, with a cast of Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Alison Pill, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman.
The plot of the movie is based on the graphic novels Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life, and Scott Pilgrim Versus The World, which are written and illustrated by Bryan Lee O’Malley. The books are the first two volumes of O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim series of graphic novels, of which the sixth and final volume is set to be published by Oni Press later this year.
Here is Universal’s official description of the plot:
Scott Pilgrim has never had a problem getting a girlfriend. It’s getting rid of them that proves difficult. From the girl who kicked his heart’s ass–and now is back in town–to the teenage distraction he’s trying to shake when Ramona rollerblades into his world, love hasn’t been easy. He soon discovers, however, his new crush has the most unusual baggage of all: a nefarious league of exes controls her love life and will do whatever it takes to eliminate him as a suitor.
As Scott gets closer to Ramona, he must face an increasingly vicious rogues’ gallery from her past–from infamous skateboarders to vegan rock stars and fearsomely identical twins. And if he hopes to win his true love, he must vanquish them all before it really is game over.
