Retailers Rave About Marvel Retailer Resource Center
From the press release:
Retailers Rave About Marvel Retailer Resource Center
Since its launch in June 2009, the MARVEL RETAILER RESOURCE CENTER (www.marvelretailers.com) has provided retailers without a presence on the web with low-cost and easy to maintain websites, and for retailers with existing websites an easily updated Marvel branded store for their sites. And now these websites have been recently redesigned to maximize the benefits for both the retailers and their customers. As the site continues to grow, with new ways to communicate directly with Marvel on their way, retailers continue to rave about Marvel’s groundbreaking service which includes web sites, First Looks at comics before they arrive in stores, marketing materials, updated ordering information and more!
This year the MRRC continues to expand as a free section is now available to all retailers, message boards linking Marvel and other retailers, as well as an overall redesign of the MRRC itself making it much more user friendly and dynamic. “This is an awesome program and a no brainer to be part of if you’re a retailer who sells Marvel Comics.”—Mike Malve, Atomic Comics (www.atomiccomics.com)
“We’ve used the MRRC for comic previews and marketing materials from its very start. The comic previews alone have been worth the monthly fee, and we even receive free product to help offset that! Stores with no web presence can get a jumpstart with the MRRC, too.”—Chris Powell, LoneStar Comics (www.mycomicshop.com, http://lonestarcomics.marvelretailers.com)
“The MRRC gives us all the tools we need to effectively market Marvel comics and trade paperbacks. It not only helps us directly as retailers by providing up to date information on upcoming items and previews that allow us to better market those items but it also provides much of that same information directly to our customers which generates excitement and interest among fans. Customers who shop with us once return again and again and this gives them one more reason to choose us. The MRRC gives our thousands of Marvel Comics readers what they’re looking for with a direct connection to our store where they can get it instantly.”—Dan Wallace, Impulse Creations (www.impulsecreations.com, http://comicbooks_actionfigures.marvelretailers.com)
“As for the initiatives behind the MRRC, it’s very encouraging, as a relatively new retailer exclusive to the online space, to see efforts like this being undertaken. Given my past career experiences in marketing for music and media, it’s also very refreshing to see the folks at Marvel being pro-active and embracing new technology and distribution methods and avoiding some of the pitfalls that some of the major record labels made. I think their marketing team is really on the right track. Also, kudos to your team for putting together a nice web app to help make life easier for retailers.”—Steve M, ExpertComics.Com (www.expertcomics.com)
