DC Comics Releases Details on the Wednesday Comics Collection
Since the first issue was published, readers have been wondering just how DC plan to collect the over-sized Wednesday Comics miniseries. Today, DC’s The Source blog revealed all the details of the collection, as well as picture of the collection being read by Wednesday Comics Art Director and editor, Mark Chiarello.
The collection will be published in May, and will be released as a 200 page hardcover, measuring 11″x17.5″, and printed on 60 pound matte coated paper. In addition to all of the stories published in the weekly issues, the collection will feature lots of bonus material, such as: an unpublished page of The Creeper (written by Keith Giffen with art by Eric Canete); an unpublished page of Plastic Man (written by Evan Dorkin with art by Stephen DeStefano); a 10-page sketchbook section with art from each illustrator; and an introduction by series editor Mark Chiarello.
It looks like a great collection, and I’m pretty much kicking myself for not having waited now. I bagged and boarded all of my Weekly issues, but the paper has still turned that yellow paper that old newspapers do! Oh well!
