Hellboy II Tops the Box Office
I just went over to IMDB to check what the box office results were for this weekend. It seems that #1 was Hellboy II: The Golden Army with $35.9 million, and coming in just behind that was Hancock, which is in its second week, with $33 million. Not bad really. I mean, it is only just above Hancock, which was admittedly in its second week of release, but it was way above the other new release for this week Journey to the Centre of the Earth, which only pulled in $20.6 million.
The first Hellboy movie, released in 2004, pulled in $23.2 million. It’s a shame these movies aren’t pulling in numbers like Iron Man or The Hulk. But hopefully it’ll keep pulling them in for a few more weeks; although, I imagine the release of The Dark Knight might throw a spanner into the works
I didn’t make it down to the movies unfortunately, due to a hectic weekend, and an unwilling wife I’m away next week, but I hope to be able to see this and The Dark Knight before they are off screens. Both look brilliant though, so go and check them out.

Hellboy 2 was fun… for sure that director has an amazing imagination, reminded me a lot of his work in Pan’s Labyrinth
Good to hear you liked it. Sadly, I still haven’t seen it. I plan to see Dark Knight with my wife this weekend, then find someone to go see Hellboy II with next week.
Del Toro is a wonderful director. If you can find them, check out some of his earlier films like Devil’s Backboe, or Chronos. They are both amazing.
